In the Studio
High | Low
I took high and low photos, posing my model with a book. This adds some interest as the model isn’t looking at the camera, but instead at the book. It was more difficult to do the high photos, because it was hard to get the background to be whiter and for the wrinkles to be less obvious. It did require some editing in post, which was also a good learning experience. The low photos were easier, and the contrast between my subject and the background help her to pop more.
Studio Light
For this, I took photos with four different lighting set-ups: Butterfly, Rembrandt, Loop, and Side. I used one light for it. It was challenging to figure out how to position the light to achieve the look, which required some perseverance. But it was enjoyable to try these studio light set-ups.
